EARTHQUAKE

Earthquake is one kind of natural disaster that has becoming a threat now a days.The perceptible shaking of the surface of the earth as a result of sudden release of energy in the earth’s crust that creats seismic waves is called earthquake.The seismic waves creats the frequency,type & size of earthquakes of an area that experienced a period of time . Eartquake is measured by “Richter magnitude scale” .Earthquake may be caused naturally or by human deeds . Rupture of geological faults is the most common cause of this disaster. Earthquakes manifest themselves by shaking at the surface of the earth  & sometimes displacement of the ground may occur. The point of initial rupture of earthquake is called its focus or hypocenter . The ground level directly above the hypocenter is the point that called epicenter .Tsunami can take place when the epicenter of a large earthquake is located offshore and the seabed is sufficiently displaced. Landslides and volcanic activity may result after major earthquake. Earthquake can be so violent that toss people around & destroy whole cities . It is so alarming that earthquake is occurring everyday on any part of the world in the recent years . Some recent incidents like earthquake in Japan in 2011 and the earthquake in Nepal in the year 2015 remind us about the damages of lives and houses. People rebuilding their lives in the affected areas. We can only establish public awareness to face the problems created by the natural disaster called earthquake .
